Well, I did it. I drove for the first time yesterday and lived to tell about it. Dad lived too. We took a bunch of country roads that I had never heard of and I stayed on the roads, missed everyone's mailboxes, and didn't run into any oncoming cars. A very successful first time. :P

It feels really weird to drive a truck, 4-wheelers and snowmobiles are a
little different.
As we were nearing our driveway Dad said, "All the other kids missed our driveway on their first time coming in, maybe you'll be the first to make it." Well, I almost did. I slowed down and began turning and then took my foot off the brake and the truck zoomed into our field. Stupid truck. So the tradition is still unbroken and Anna is our only hope. :D

I am so pround of you for not taking out any mailboxes! Congrats on your first drive! Did you hit any pine trees as you headed into the field?
Great job! My parents are paranoid that I'm going to take out mailboxes - but I'm so worried about taking out CARS that I don't even think about that! =) I keep telling them that I would rather run into a mailbox than a car.
I almost missed our driveway too! So I went in a little fast (and it was a little bumpier than normal). =)
PJ-
No, I didn't hit any pine trees. I was hardly off the driveway, just a wheel or two. Gosh!
Well, 'zoomed into the field' kind of implied that you went pretty far! I am glad you clarified!!!!!:)
Wow. You have described my first driving experience to a "T". Minus the missing the driveway part...since there are ditches on either side of the driveway...causing us to be cautious!
what a riot! :) it's hard to believe you're driving - I haven't seen you all in so long - looking forward to next weekend...
Haha! Yeah, when I started driving I was so worried about hitting cars (on my side of the car) and my dad was telling me to get away from the mailboxes that were whipping by alarmingly close to his side. :D
That's so awesome! Yeah, my first time driving was pretty sweet too. I can't wait to get my permit!
