Today was incredibly awesome outside...I am so ready for spring :)

Meet Larry

Larry is a very special snowman. He used to be a football player - hence the absence of a neck. But then he ate too many pringles - hence the big butt.

But he really is a lovable hunk of snow, even with a bad hair day.

I love you Larry.

3 feet of pure awesomeness

I can't remember the last time we've had this much snow. It snowed 48 hours straight, and now we have between 2-3 feet.

The logical conclusion to having this much snow, is obviously jumping off our barn roof into the drifts.

After that we went sledding down our driveway, which is more like a bobsled run at the moment, and made a rather large snowman named Larry. Pictures soon to come.

To Watch a Sunrise

This morning the alarm rang at 4:30 and I bounced awake. It was weird. I guess I hadn't been sleeping long enough for me to actually be tired. Anna on the other hand was not so easy to drag out of bed, despite all of the planning that went on just 5 1/2 hours previous. She was less than enthusiastic about watching the sunrise on horse back and thought sleeping was a much better option, but I made her get up. I knew she'd thank me for it someday. :) When we got the horses it was dark, but by the time we had them saddled and ready to go it was pretty light out. We rode up to our neighbor's field since it's the best place to see the sun make it's entrance.

It was really foggy and the moon was really bright. It was weird seeing the sun and moon at the same time.

It seems like we waited for half an hour before the sun came up, and it was pretty cold.

Cherry Surprise

I have always wanted a cherry tree. We used to have one when we lived at a different house, but I was only 6. Well, my wish came true...in a very unexpected way. Last week sometime, Dad came in and announced they we had a cherry tree in the hedgerow along the runway. Now, I cannot tell you how many times we have walked down the runway and passed all of those trees, hundreds at least. So we all went out and looked, and sure enough, we had a cherry tree. In all of the years that our family has lived at this house (10 to be exact), we never knew. Isn't that bizarre? And so we picked them, pitted them (which takes forever), and made a pie.

We thought they would all be gone after that because of the birds, but a few days later there was so many, we picked again.

It's a sour cherry tree, but they are so good.

Now we have 3 bags of them in the freezer for future use.

Across the Road

The people across the road from us lent out their field to a stables so now we have (I think) 12 horses to gaze at. That is if we want to walk all the way down our driveway, which is what Anna and I did today.

They were all in a bunch, so it was kind of hard to tell how many there were and we kept on coming up with different numbers, but I'm pretty sure it was either 12 or 13.
