Too Busy

We've been crazily busy that last few days, that's why you haven't been hearing from us. (did I just say 'us'? I really should say 'me' since I'm the only one who posts regularly. LOL.) Anyway, Emily graduated on Saturday, and since then we have gone to six graduation parties which are all about an hour away.
Yesterday we all got sunburns, but I'm pretty sure I got the worst one. It was still really fun though, we played volleyball for a long time at one party, and then at another party I was throwing the football for almost an hour. Me and two other girls tried to play real football with the guys but it didn't really work. Of course no one threw the ball to us, and they were only playing two-hand touch when they all really wanted to tackle eachother because we were playing. So we left so they could happily kill eachother. I think only one boy got hurt, which was surprising.
We have a bunch of pictures from the graduation ceremony, but I'm trying to get Em to post them. (Because you know, she graduated!)
So in case you were wondering what we've been up to, that's it.

Chapstick Commercial

Teresa had to make a commercial for one of her school projects, so she made it about chapstick. (what else?) She shot the footage a while ago, but just got it all together and on youtube.

Yumminess

Yesterday I rode bikes in the rain, ate tuna, cleaned out a closet, ate quesadillas, took pictures, and made lemon bars. A lot of eating went on. Natalie and I made the lemon bars, and they were SO good.

Basket Workshop

Today Anja came over to our house to do a basket workshop (Mrs. B helped out alot too). I was the very last one to finish...ha! It was really fun though.
And the work begins...
Anna and Anneke. (Mom and Anneke were our babysitters while we did the workshop)
Emily and Sarah D.
Both Emily and I picked the same colors for our baskets, this is hers.
We made a lovely mess on the floor.

Kim, Mrs. G, Mrs. B, Anna, Laura, Emily B, and me with our finished baskets.

The Lilac Festival

After the reception, we took Aunt Patti and Chelsea with us to the Lilac Festival. I'd never been before, but it was really fun! There was all these trails through the lilac bushes, and it smelled so good. We have two lilacs, and this year was the first year that there was actually enough so we could cut them.

There was all of these really cool trees around the park.

Anna with some kind of bush that is not a lilac.

Dino BBQ Party

This Saturday we drove up to Rochester to go to our cousin's wedding reception. They got married on some island earlier that week I think and then they had a party where we had the yummiest food ever!
Six of the cousins: Sarah, me, Emily, Isaac, Anna, and Chelsea.
Here was the yummy food from Dinosaur BBQ. We brought back a plate for Teresa because she couldn't make it...I'm not sure how much actually made it back to the house. Anna and I got a little hungry on the way back.
My cousin Jimmy and his new wife Lottie.

Gardening

Yesterday I planted the peas in our garden. The day before I had planted lettuce, beets, and scallions. I never liked gardening but I liked it this time. We have not planted peas in a long time. You had to plant them in double rows so they looked like two rows of little green soldiers!
Tonight we get to go to Prince Caspian! I am so excited! I can not wait.

My Contribution

Anna was planting seeds in the garden today...and I was taking pictures. :) I offered to help, but she didn't think that I could do it right or something. I didn't mind, I'd rather take pictures of tulips!
The leaves have started to fall off the tulips, and the bleeding hearts have just bloomed.

In the woods

For Mother's Day yesterday, we went for a walk at Sapsucker Woods, which is a bird sanctuary. Although the only birds I saw were geese and robins, it still was fun. I loved all of the wooden bridges, they had them all over the place.

My amazing chair. It actually was quite comfortable!
Emily and Anna obviously couldn't see the sign. :D

Art Show

Emily, Anna and I had taken an art class up in Syracuse every week from October-March. Last night the teacher had an art show where all her students had their art displayed. Her are some pictures from there.

Believe it or not it took about a month to finish this! This is my favorite piece I did, we used real leaves and just copied them using tempera paints. It was really fun, I had never really painted before.

This is Anna's leaf piece, and no she didn't use real leaves. :P

Anna made an elephant out of paper mache, it was awesome!

Emily with her heart painting. We used textured gels, and acrylic paints. I made one too, but there's not a picture of it.

My snowman.

Anna did a positive/negative using a sun.

Me and Em with her leaf painting

We used printmaking to make these. Emily's is on the left and mine is on the right.
