Of Snow and Pizza

We were at Greek Peak yesterday for 8 hours. It snowed and was windy and freezing the entire time, but there were some good aspects. Because the weather was nasty, we were some of the few people there. And because it was snowing, and had been snowing, there was a foot of fresh powder on the ungroomed trails. Natalie and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for practicing moguls, so we did three runs on them. And the glades were amazing! So much snow, few icy spots, and no one ran into a tree. All very good things.

The only way to get to some certain glades was through this very flat trail. For some reason we decided to go to them anyway, and Emily and Anna were dying trying to get there on their boards. So Natalie was pulling Anna, and I was pulling Emily. Except, Emily and I weren't working out too well together. She was basically pulling me down the hill, so I gave her my poles and she zoomed away. As I skated after her I couldn't resist taking some pictures, it was quite comical.

The reason we had stayed so late was because there was a pizza party at 5pm. After looking forward to it all day, it really wasn't that exciting. We ate cheese pizza, drank pepsi, and didn't win anything spectacular. The two people who won the new skis and board weren't even there! They should have just given it to us, I mean, come on! The only thing we got was cards for free music downloads and a stomach ache.

Just that kind of day

This is the kind of day when sane people stay inside, wrap themselves in a fleece blanket, and read a book, watch a movie, or something that involves being warm. And yet Mom, Anna, and I ventured out into the blowing snow and wind to find jeans. Both Anna and I must have tried on at least 20 pairs, but to no avail. So after failing at that, we got groceries and are now back where we should have stayed: inside. They say it's 31 degrees out right now, but they're lying, it feels like 2°.

I don't have time to post on this blog today, but I did post on the Come Alive blog, in case you are simply dying for a post. :P Four munchkins are coming over soon that Anna and I are going to sit on, er...I mean baby sit.

Greek Peak

Skiing at Greek Peak has been so much fun this year. We actually like our instructors, they like us, and the snow has been great. Laura and Emily on the life.

We had such a great time last Monday. I made it my personal goal to liven things up a bit for the extremely bored lift guys. We were going up this one life, and every time I got on I would talk to them in a different accent. First was British, then Edna Mode(Incredibles), then New York(as in the city). I was running out of ideas, so we went over to the other lift, and I got the other girls to join my cause. We all "fell asleep" on the lift and woke up barely in time to get the bar up and get off the lift. I think the guy was really confused. I hope we made there day slightly more interesting.

Teresa's Birthday

Here's some pictures from last night when we celebrated Teresa's birthday. Sarah, Emily, Anna, Jordan, and I gave Teresa a candy poster-board(there's probably an official name for it, but I don't know it). Actually, it was more like Sarah dumping a pile of candy on the floor, handing me a sheet of paper and a pencil and telling me to come up with something. :D She had more faith in me than I did, but I did get all the candy on there except for a 3 Musketeers, and put them together in sentences, even if they didn't make complete sense. It made me laugh anyway. She's going to be a personal trainer in case you were wondering what the "chunky turtles" were all about.

Her delicious strawberry rhubarb pie that she has every year. Two of them actually. I just ate another piece a few minutes ago, SO GOOD.

And then we played two rounds of "Crazy Uno." It's just Uno with a bunch of strange rules like slapping your forehead, the table, or the pile when certain cards are played. A few of us were wounded, thankfully, we all lived.

Ice Skating

Today Emily, Anna, and I went ice skating for the first time this year. There was a hassle getting everyone skates they could wear. Emily wore Sarah's, Anna wore Teresa's, and I wore Emily's. Yeah, weird. Emily was in pain after about five minutes and made me pull her around. Anna's didn't work out too well either, but mine were perfect! :D But if we go again I'll have to get rentals because Emily said she'll take hers back. I wonder why? Odd.

Instructor: "I hate to say this, but you guys are suprisingly normal for homeschoolers."

Natalie and I have been laughing about it for a week. I should have asked him what his definition of 'normal' was. :D
