The story is about the narrator guardian angel. The bond between a "charge" and an angel is so close that, even though the narrator doesn't know the angel, she automatically reacts.
The narrator of the story goes astray from christ, but is pulled back by her new friend (and guardian angel) Lethelia.
this is just the scene when she first meets Lethelia.
